Alfred Anangwe, a sociologist, is a researcher at Arid Lands Institute, Nairobi, Kenya. He has participated in various research projects alongside accomplished scholars and has published in the African Journal of International Affairs, Encyclopedia of African Folklore and CODESRIA Book Project Series (Book titled: Governing African Health Systems). He researches on current issues such as: Political Conflicts and Democracy in Africa, Terrorism and security issues in Eastern Africa, Health Sector Reforms, International Trade and Food Security, and culture and development, among others. He has specialized in gender analysis of policy and development issues. He has presented many papers at academic conferences organized and sponsored by the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA).
