Edgar Pieterse

Edgar Pieterse (Ph.D.) is the director of the African Centre for Cities, University of Cape Town. From 2004-2007, he was appointed special policy advisor in the Office of the Premier, Western Cape Provincial Government. He is a co-founder and Board member of the Sustainability Institute. He is also co-founder and Director of the Isandla Institute, a development policy think-tank. He has worked extensively in the ngo sector in South Africa in various capacities, ranging from policy research (including local governance, democratisation, urban policy, ngo enablement, gender), to training and management. His support to the project can grant the dissemination of the results to local and global stakeholders connected with urban development and policy making.
